Deciding What to Sell on eBay

Online sellers are always in for the money, but who isn't? In eBay, the very first obstacle you are going to face is making the first sale. Keeping the sales coming in is the next big obstacle. For the most part, it is deciding what product to sell in eBay which will lead you in bagging the money.

I recall the relationship between demand and supply from my economics subject and what I learned from it, but I am not sharing it here anymore because I am afraid I will go wrong. I mean, supply and demand is basic and everybody should already know it. I will be sharing more about the theory of demand instead where supply is low. Look around you, what do you think is the one thing that people always want to buy, look at it in the perspective not just of the price the buyer is willing to pay but also its availability in the market. Selling on-demand items where supply is low is the most exciting! Why? It is because where the demand is high and the supply is low, profit is more promising as buyers are willing to pay for the price! It is like hitting the target! So think, think, and think! Luckily for me I haven't thought about what product to sell as my friend already conceptualized the idea and the plan for me, thus leading me as well to venture in consumer electronics.

Whatever it is that you feel like selling, go ahead and sell it! There is money in those garbage of yours, unused clothing and other garage items could be a treasure for others and you can earn from them! Buy and sell is also a hit. I do buy and sell, I source my products locally in individual item or wholesale, and I sell it online.

To update you guys, my stars went to 45 already. That was fast!

Utilizing eBay Online Resources

Think positive all the time, this is the very first tip that everyone who wants to be successful eBayer should religiously follow. A lot of people, mostly impatient people will try to bring you down and discourage you on selling on eBay, what with the fees that eBay takes out plus the fees that PayPal takes out as well which boils down to lesser profit. To become a successful in eBay, you just got to learn, pick the right products to sell, establish good relationship with your network, and always believe in your guts. Oh, and I almost forgot, be friends with every eBay reading material that you encounter because you will be surprised to learn something to help you succeed.

A sucker for learning, I went on to read eBay's very own online resources. It basically contains all the primary things you have to know in navigating the site, getting yourself ready to sell, and other eBay tools that will contribute to your selling success. If you think this online material is very basic and you think you can still succeed without having to read it, then go ahead and feel free to skip it. It is always good to note however that every learning experience is an advantage and so I keep a mindset to always learn more in order for me to increase my chances to be more successful. I've got nothing lose anyway, all I want is to learn something more.

Aside from eBay's online resources, there are lot of free materials in the internet that tackles selling tips on eBay. All you have to do is to teach yourself to spend a little time everyday to read these tips and follow them by heart. The world has already become a better place for everybody as as you could actually access these reading materials and a whole lot more of helpful information in the internet without having to pay anything at all.

Learning eBay For the First Time

I got to say this, I am a serious man, even more serious when I am learning something because I want to get something out of it. Well for everybody at least, that is just the way to do it! That is how I define and apply FOCUS. My greatest motivation of all in this material world, as you may all know is MONEY. Always the money.

I had to put serious time and effort when I was first learning eBay, like you would always find me stuck in my computer most of the time, even when I was at work because I wanted to be noticed as a seller, I wanted my postings to be noticed and definitely sell. You can only gauge your success in eBay when you sell items, and you sell them fast, and you constantly get positive feedback from your buyers. I have this mindset to always return the same courtesy when I buy stuff from other eBayers, I always see to it that I leave them a feedback because I now know, and very well how these feedback matter to every eBayer, be it a buyer or a seller. I was so eager to learn the ins and outs of eBay because I wanted to be a successful eBayer too. For one, I have already recognized the opportunity in selling in eBay because this online shopping site goes worldwide! So I thought of really taking it seriously, even going to my friend's house almost everyday because I was so hungry with what he has to feed me about eBay. Fortunately though, in no time, I was able to sell my first item, and shortly after that, with a little more effort, the sales keep of coming to this very day.

Also, one thing about becoming a successful entrepreneur is always about the patience. I recognize that everything I do will definitely, more or less, will take some time. I recognize the fact that I couldn't become successful, at least as successful as my friend in eBay overnight. I recall my very first posts were all about iPhone cases. If you have any idea what these cases cost, you would actually think I was crazy for selling in eBay considering the fees they'll take out from my every sale. One iPhone case would cost around $4-$9, and yes, not that enough profit I know, but it was during that time that my excitement to post more profitable items started. It was during that time that I started to post iPods, bluetooth devices, iPads, and then smartphones. In ebay, if you try to research it, the fast selling items are in the electronics category, and it is where all of my items fall. When the time came that I was already familiar with eBay, I began to be conscious of eBay reading materials in the internet, and in my next post I will share how these reading materials have helped me.

Business on the Side - eBay 101

It has been a long time since I last blogged. A lot of happenings lately. My dad died on July 2010, completely leaving me to take over the family finances. I had an ongoing immigration petition for my the fiance, now officially my wife, way back in the Philippines that required a lot of attention and a lot of money. My grandmother in the Philippines died, thus postponing my wedding to 2011 and having my wife unemployed for a longer period as was expected. These events were just some of the outstanding highlights in my 2010. No wonder I was off for a long time. I had to look for ways to earn additional money.

A friend of mine was into selling smart phones in eBay. He has no job but he earns his decent income - tax free - by just selling online. He started his business way back in 2007 and now that he has built his network and established his credibility as an online seller, he never has to worry for looking for a steady job again. Luckily, this friend of mine was generous enough and has encouraged me to venture into this online business, also selling smart phones and other tech gadgets like he does. He helped me establish my credibility by building up positive feedback from my buyers. He taught me everything from scratch, how to post, what kind of photos to post to get a buyer's attention, the content of each post, and the best time to post a listing so that it appears on top of other listings. Right now, for nine months I have already sold a couple of phones and has earned 30 stars more or less in eBay, with positive feedback from my buyers, I am a credible online seller, a credible eBayer.

Selling in eBay was one thing that I considered doing just to get an extra income at the beginning, as an addition to to my monthly paycheck. I never thought this could really be helpful, earning a couple more dollars a month by just posting and waiting for a buyer to see my post online is just so convenient.

I'd like to share more about online selling on my next posts. I will be redeeming myself in this little blog and will seriously start putting on some business lessons for everybody to read.
